Twinja Defends Against DOS Attack

After repeated attempts to login to my Twitter profile, I stumbled on Mashables Twitter Down: Twitter Doesn't Know Why and then Twitter's status page which is now claiming it is defending against a denial of service attack. Given the fact that there have been reported outages at Facebook and Livejournal too, could this be an orchestrated attack across multiple social networking sites? |
UPDATE: According to Twitters status blog: "the site is back up, but we are continuing to defend against and recover from this attack."
